Former Bullitt County Deputy Sheriff charged with sexual misconduct is a no show in court

A former Bullitt County Sheriff’s Deputy accused of sexual misconduct with an inmate was a no-show in court on Monday.

After more than two hours of waiting, an Oldham County judge was about to issue a warrant for Joseph Rogers but instead, Rogers’ attorney showed up and spoke on his behalf.

Rogers, who had turned himself in to police in May, is accused of sexual misconduct with a female inmate on more than one occasion.

The judge entered a not guilty plea on Rogers’ behalf. Rogers’ attorney wouldn’t comment.
