Jail computer expert stored child porn

A PRISON computer expert who was caught with child pornography images claimed he was planning to commit attacks on traffickers trading in internet images of abuse.
Michael Baxter, of Whitelaw Drive, Bathgate, told police that a family member was the victim of sexual abuse but the alleged perpetrator committed suicide.

He said he wanted “revenge” and accessed paedophile websites and chatrooms and traded images in a bid to meet others to assault them.

He is now facing a jail sentence after admitting making, possessing and distributing or showing indecent pictures of children and child abuse movie files.

The High Court in Edinburgh heard that some of the material recovered from Baxter’s home computers included images of the most serious level of abuse.

Baxter, 41, was employed by the Scottish Prison Service since 1995.

The judge, Lord Brailsford, deferred sentence for a background report, placed him on the sex offenders’ register and continued bail.
