Corrections Officer Arrested In Undercover Drug Bust

POLK COUNTY (Bay News 9) — Deputies have arrested a Department of Corrections correctional officer after they said she attempted to purchase prescription drugs from an undercover detective on Monday.

According to reports, Deborah Frisina, 51, met the undercover detective in the parking lot of a Winghouse restaurant in Lakeland to purchase the drug Diazepam without a prescription.

Deputies say Frisina gave the detective $240 for 300 of the pills, and also asked for Oxycodone, but the detective did not have any.

Frisina told detectives she wanted to purchase the drugs for her own personal use to manage pain.

She was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail and is being charged with one count of purchase of a controlled substance, one count of possession of a controlled substance without prescription, and one count of trafficking in Oxycodone.
